What Are The Problems Associated With Satellite Navigation Systems?

2025/08/05 14:45

In precision agriculture, the automatic steering system utilizes high-precision RTK satellite positioning technology and employs inertial navigation, automatic steering and electric steering technologies to control the steering wheel and guide agricultural machinery to travel automatically along the predetermined route with an accuracy of ±2.5cm, thereby enhancing operational efficiency. The stable operation of the automatic steering system is crucial to the row-to-row transition accuracy. Then, during the actual operation of agricultural machinery equipment, the row-to-row transition may malfunction due to navigation issues, thereby affecting the operation efficiency. The following are common problems with navigation and their handling steps.

1. Navigation issues cause the row-to-row transition failure

(1) Satellite signal reception problem. The navigation system relies on satellite signals for positioning. If the satellite signal reception is poor and the navigation interface shows that the number of satellites is 0, this might be caused by the GNSS antenna not being connected or poor antenna contact. Signal reception problems will prevent agricultural machinery from obtaining accurate position information, thereby affecting the accuracy of row-to-row transition.

(2) The positioning accuracy has declined. The navigation system needs to maintain high-precision positioning capabilities to ensure the accuracy of agricultural machinery during the row-to-row transition. However, due to environmental factors (such as obstructions, electromagnetic interference, etc.) or system issues (such as algorithm failures, sensor aging, etc.), the positioning accuracy may decline, causing agricultural machinery to deviate from the predetermined path during the row-to-row transition.

(3) The path planning is incorrect. The navigation system is responsible for planning the operation routes of agricultural machinery. If there are errors in the path planning algorithm or the planned path is unreasonable due to improper operation, it may cause problems during the row-to-row transition of agricultural machinery.

2. Steps for handling navigation issues

(1) Recheck whether the GNSS satellite antenna connection is normal, and at the same time pay attention to whether there are any obstructions or electromagnetic interference in the agricultural machinery operation site.

(2) Recheck whether the planned route is reasonable and promptly troubleshoot navigation malfunctions.
